Theta Mu Lambda Charitable Foundation Scholarship
The Theta Mu Lambda Charitable Foundation was founded January 1, 1989, in Calumet City with the aims of encouraging academic excellence and assisting minority students in their pursuit of higher education. Since its incorporation on April 2, 1990, the Foundation has awarded over $300,000.00 in scholarships to youths in the south suburbs of Chicago. We are accepting applications for our scholarships from students who attend a high school located within our service area in the south suburbs of Chicago.
THETA MU LAMBDA CHARITABLE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Scholarship applicants, at the time of the application must meet the following criteria:
- Be a graduating senior from a high school in the south suburbs of Chicago, a previous TMLCF scholarship recipient, or a current college student from our partnering colleges: Governors State University, Prairie State College, South Suburban College, Chicago State University.
- Must have a minimum cumulative high school or collegiate G.P.A. of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. (Leaders for Tomorrow Mentoring Program participants must have a cumulative high school G.P.A. of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale).
- Plan on attending either a two or 4-year degree awarding educational institution.

Service Area Boundaries & Map:
- Northern boundary – 127th Street
- Southern boundary – Monee – Manhattan / Crete-Monee Road
- Western boundary – LaGrange Road
- Eastern boundary – Illinois/Indiana Boundary

HOW TO APPLY
5New Applicants Only:
- Complete and submit ONLINE application to scholarships@tmlcf.com by March 31, 2025. Download and save a copy of your scholarship application for your records.
- Submit two letters of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, school official, or community/ campus organization of which you are a leader/volunteer electronically to scholarships@tmlcf.com.
- Letters of recommendation must be submitted electronically to scholarships@tmlcf.com by March 31, 2025 (the student’s name must be in the email’s subject line).
- Official transcripts for the previous semester attended must be received by either email or USPS by March 31, 2025, to Theta Mu Lambda Charitable Foundation c/o Scholarship Committee P.O. Box 95 Olympia Fields, IL 60461.
TMCLF Renewal Applicants or TMLCF Community Scholars:
Renewal funds ARE NOT GUARANTEED to previous winners. The renewal funds will be offered only if funds are available and the requirements are met.
Community Scholar – a current undergraduate student attending one of our partnering colleges and universities: Chicago State University, Governors State University, Prairie State College, or South Suburban College
- Complete and submit an ONLINE application to scholarships@tmlcf.com between June 1st – and July 15th, 2025. Download and save a copy of your scholarship application for your records.
- Official Transcripts for the previous semester attended must be sent electronically to scholarships@tmlcf.com or received via mail by July 15, 2025, at Theta Mu Lambda Charitable Foundation c/o Scholarship Committee P.O. Box 95 Olympia Fields, IL 60461.
